If you ever wondered why Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) are desperate to convince people that Trump voters are turning against him, here's why. Democrats are the least popular than they've been in generations. And after five years of doing anything and everything they could to convince voters that Trump is a fascist, convince voters that he's a Nazi, declare lawfare against him, find him guilty of 34 bookkeeping errors, find him guilty of paying back a loan early, and an assassination attempt...
Republicans have gained eight percent over Democrats in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, six percent in Nevada (thanks to everyone fleeing California), and two percent in Arizona. These aren't independent voters who make random choices on election day. These are people who, over the past five years, looked at both parties and made a conscious effort to register as Republicans.
Throwing the kitchen sink at candidate Trump didn't work. Now the left needs to convince voters that they are unhappy with President Trump. Or, find new voters, which Democrats appear to think they can do by going all in on being the illegal immigration party. It's unclear which one is more of a fools errund.
What makes this data particularly interesting for Donald Trump is its relevance to the upcoming midterm elections. Tradition dictates that the party out of power gains seats. The next six months or so before Trump's State of the Union address are crucial to fulfill campaign promises AND provide results. And do all this while the media and the left (but I repeat myself) will jump from headline to headline they think they can blow out of proportion.
